What a creative and thoughtful way to send a very positive and important message to everyone about the importance of reading!
Nancy Yule, a parent at Highland Public School, was very pleased with the opportunity for her child to be a part of the Strong Start® Project, and wanted to show her appreciation for the program and the difference it makes for early learners.
Working with the Principal and staff, the children in the school made “picture” representations of what reading and literacy means to them. Each class submitted a representative picture. Then, using her talents as a quilter and the inspiration provided by these pictures, Nancy created a wonderful quilt!
The school is now using the quilt to raise money to donate to Strong Start® .
