As the Ontario South Regional Program Co-ordinator for the Letters, Sounds and Words™ program, Corrine is responsible for supporting program partners, providing Volunteer Coach training, overseeing program implementation, and building community relationships. Corrine has over 23 years of experience working with children and families in education and community services. She is passionate about helping children learn to read and possesses extensive knowledge and experience in education, including Early Literacy Intervention and Special Education. Corrine was an educator for 22 years, spending her first two with the Edmonton Public School Board, teaching Kindergarten to Grade 2. Her remaining 20 years were with the Waterloo Region District School Board, teaching Kindergarten to Grade 4. While teaching, Corrine facilitated her schools’ Family Literacy Nights, spearheaded a Home Reading Program, and coordinated activities for Literacy Week. Most recently, she has been working as a Youth Programming Assistant at the Cambridge Public Library. In this role, Corrine has planned and delivered a variety of engaging programs to different age groups including Strong Start’s Baby Connections®.
