Strong Start’s Executive Director, Machelle Denison, is one of 60 outstanding women and organizations from across Waterloo Region nominated in 10 categories and recognized at the annual K-W Oktoberfest Rogers Women of the Year ceremony on Monday, October 7 at Oktoberfesthaus at LOT42. This annual award pays tribute to distinguished women in the community.
Strong Start is delighted to recognize Machelle for her nomination and joins her in congratulating all the nominees and winners. Machelle was nominated in both the Professional category and Lifetime Achievement Award. This excerpt from her nomination highlights Machelle’s accomplishments and positive impact in our community:
Machelle lives the ideals of an outstanding woman in Waterloo Region. As Executive Director of Strong Start Charitable Organization, Machelle brings inspirational leadership and governance to a team who annually provide programs that help thousands of young children learn to read. As a mentor, role model and visionary, Machelle’s passionate involvement at many community tables reflects her unique ability to contribute to improved literacy outcomes and motivate positive change for all.
