Congratulations to the Cambridge and North Dumfries Community Foundation and the Kitchener and Waterloo Community Foundation for their first Waterloo Region’s Vital Signs report. This project will provide an annual community checkup measuring the vitality of our Region in 11 key areas. As they state:

“By measuring our community’s vitality, we hope to increase awareness and encourage discussion about key areas of importance to our quality of life. The report will be an effective tool to identify significant trends and provide insight into issues that matter…This report will act as a community ‘call to action’.”

Both of these Community Foundations are financial supporters of Strong Start® and we are grateful that they share our goals of assuring that all children learn to read at a young age. The importance of literacy is addressed in the Vital Signs report.

Strong Start® recently received a donation from the Cambridge and North Dumfries Community Foundation which is our second largest donor and has supported our efforts for many years. We greatly appreciate this loyalty and belief in the value of our work!
