This year the Accelerator Centre has been fast-tracking early literacy as well as technology startups. While best known for building successful companies by offering entrepreneurs in-house mentorship, office space and access to funding, this year it also helped raise funds for Strong Start. In July it held a barbeque for startups going through its program, and with corporations Ernst & Young and Cushman Wakefield Waterloo covering all costs, proceeds from ticket sales were donated to our organization. We also had the opportunity to set up a display and promote our volunteer opportunities. We were invited back in December for their holiday lunch, with the costs covered by Ernst and Young. Thank you Andrew Jackson, staff at the Accelerator Centre and clients for your commitment to helping young children learn to read. Thank you as well to Ernst & Young and Cushman Wakefield Waterloo for your generous support of the lunches.
