As the Program Development Consultant, Colette is responsible for providing expertise and advice on program development as it pertains to the Science of Reading, Ontario Right to Read Report, Ontario Language Curriculum, and Equity, Diversity & Inclusion, to support decision making related to program design modifications and enhancements. Previously, Colette served as Director of Program for Strong Start from 2016 to 2021, overseeing program delivery and expansion of the Letters, Sounds and Words™ program, Get Ready for School™ program, and Baby Connections® program. Colette has over 34 years’ experience in the education field, serving in the classroom as well as in numerous School Board roles. Colette has taught children from Kindergarten to Grade 8 in the Waterloo Catholic District School Board and the Toronto Catholic District School Board. She has also served as an Early Reading Intervention Teacher, Literacy Support Teacher, and as a Student Achievement Consultant: Literacy K-8, and Student Achievement Consultant: Early Learning. Colette has been an active member in the literacy community across Waterloo Region, representing the Catholic School Board at The Children’s Planning Table, Early Literacy Alliance of Waterloo Region, and Let’s Read.
